Avalon Heights International School Historical Moments
1997
Apr, 1997
Blooming Buds began as a pre-school in 550 sq. feet of space at Koper Khairane, tastefully done up to cater to toddlers’ needs. It instantly became a hit with its creative and innovative curriculum. By the end of the year, there were 150 kids enrolled and the space had expanded to 1500 sq. ft.

feb 2000
Avalon Heights opened its doors, as the pre-school expanded to become a school, on the request of parents who wanted to continue their children’s education with the same philosophy but were unable to find a school. Avalon made its beginning with 15 students in its Jr. Kindergarten and 8 in Sr. KG. The school had to hire two additional rooms to cater to the increased strength.
2001
feb 2001
The school moved to a brand new location, a self-contained unit at Sector 12, Vashi. Grade 1 began with 6 children! Even then, the school had the flavour of a proper educational enterprise with co-curricular such as taekwondo, gymnastics, drama and athletics.
2002
feb 2002
Another independent bungalow nearby was hired to accommodate improved facilities and house the Grades 2 and 3. The total strength on the school now reached 110, along with 250 at Blooming Buds! This was the year we applied for a school plot from CIDCO and received a rejection letter, as the school was not yet 10 years old!
2004
Sep 2004
Avalon was the proud owner of a 6-storey school building!
2005
Jan 2005
Avalon fitted out the new building with the best of facilities, and warm, bright cheerful interiors, and then moved into the new home. The Ground to third floor of the school became operational and there were now 600 students on the rolls of Avalon.
2006
Jun 2006
The fourth and fifth floors of the school building were done up and this did a good job in accommodating the ever-growing number of students.
2008
July 2008
This year, the school building basement was done up: now there was a rifle shooting arcade and a skating area in the basement.
2008
Aug, 2008
Avalon received ICSE affiliation.
2011
Feb, 2011
The first batch of 15 ICSE students took the exam, and their performances pass all expectations. The average score was above 75%.
2012-2016
Jun, 2012
Successive ICSE batches pass out with flying colours. Avalon currently has 1187 children, 110 full time teachers and 51 support and office staff.
