2. Learning to Love: Nurturing Hearts and Values

Education of the Heart takes center stage, where we prioritize values and character development above mere academic achievements. Tolerance, respect, compassion, service, and integrity are not just words here; they are the threads that weave through every subject and lesson. Students not only embrace these values but are also celebrated through monthly and annual character awards, recognizing their dedication to these virtues.

3. Learning to Learn: Cultivating Inquisitive Minds

Education of the Mind is about instilling the right mindset and honing skills for knowledge acquisition and worldly understanding. We empower students with critical thinking, analytical prowess, effective comprehension, and problem-solving abilities. Alongside mastering reading, writing, and memorization, they gain the capacity to apply knowledge to new contexts and spark innovation. Metacognition and reflection are integral tools in their lifelong learning journey.

4. Learning to Leave a Legacy: Nurturing the Soul

The concept of leaving a lasting legacy speaks to the very essence of the soul, although its intricacies are beyond the scope of this introduction. Here at Avalon, we invite you to embark on a profound exploration of the soul's journey, awaiting your discovery and transformation.

We reform and then, we transform them

At Avalon, our educational philosophy centers on a simple yet powerful motto: "We reform and then, we transform them." We believe that education is a continuous journey of growth and development. Through our commitment to reforming and refining students' existing knowledge, skills, and attitudes, we lay the groundwork for a transformative experience. This approach involves nurturing their potential, fostering critical thinking, and instilling values, ultimately empowering them to become not just successful individuals, but also compassionate and responsible citizens ready to make a positive impact on the world.

We teach their minds and then, we reach their hearts

At Avalon, education is not confined to the transfer of knowledge; it is a transformative journey that illuminates the very essence of our students. We believe in the profound power of education to ignite a passion for learning and kindle the flames of curiosity. Our dedicated educators go beyond the conventional role of teaching; they inspire, mentor, and guide, nurturing not only intellect but also the very core of our students' beings. In this enchanted realm of learning, we aim not just to fill minds with facts but to ignite a lifelong love for knowledge, where each student's heart and mind radiates with the brilliance of enlightenment.

We teach them silence and then, we make their voices heard

At Avalon, we believe that each student is a unique individual with their own dreams and aspirations. We empower our students with the power of choice, allowing them to shape their educational journey according to their interests and goals. We also cherish the magic of voice, encouraging our students to express themselves, to question, to challenge, and to share their ideas with the world. In this nurturing environment, our students not only learn but also become confident, articulate, and empowered individuals ready to make their mark on the world.

We follow structure and then, we also facilitate freedom and flexibility

Avalon's educational philosophy is ever-evolving and dynamic. Just as a river adapts to its terrain, our approach adapts to the changing needs and aspirations of our students. We recognize that education is not static; it is a living, breathing entity that must flow and meander, carving new pathways and embracing innovation. Our curriculum evolves, our teaching methods adapt, and our educators continuously seek ways to enhance the learning experience. This dynamic flow ensures that our students are well-prepared to navigate the ever-changing landscapes of the world beyond our walls.

We celebrate victories and we celebrate every step of their learning journeys

Our approach to assessment goes beyond the conventional notion of testing. We believe that assessment is a tool for reflection and growth. Instead of viewing tests as endpoints, we see them as milestones in a student's journey of learning. Our assessments are designed not only to measure knowledge but also to encourage self-reflection, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the subject matter. We emphasize the importance of learning from both successes and challenges, allowing our students to grow and evolve as reflective and resilient learners.

Does AHIS have a uniform policy?

AHIS celebrates the diversity of ideas, but uniformity in dressing. An elegant, comfortable uniform is mandated to encourage simplicity, and foster a common identity. Students of AHIS stand united in a common school uniform thrice a week. A house uniform depicting house colours (Daffodils/Orchid/Iris/Tulip) is worn on the remaining two days.

Thinking over Facts:

Within the realm of knowledge, we elevate our students to become thinkers of unparalleled depth and insight. We beckon them to transcend the mere accumulation of information, inviting them to partake in the art of critical inquiry. Here, the pursuit of wisdom is paramount, igniting the intellect and fostering a profound understanding of the world's mysteries.

Questions over Answers:

At Avalon, we celebrate the inquisitive spirit as the guardian of enlightenment. We encourage our students to tread the path of endless inquiry, where curiosity reigns supreme. Within our hallowed halls, solutions are but stepping stones to deeper queries, unraveling the very fabric of the universe and unveiling boundless horizons of knowledge.

Imagination over Knowledge:

Knowledge, while foundational, is but a canvas awaiting the strokes of imagination. Here, we breathe life into the realm of dreams, where creativity knows no bounds. Our students are architects of their own destinies, forging pathways with the magic of their imagination, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary.

Collaboration over Competition:

Avalon School is a haven where the symphony of collaboration transcends the clamor of competition. We instill in our students the profound beauty of working hand in hand, where unity, empathy, and shared purpose propel them toward collective success. Together, they create harmonies that resonate far and wide.

Values over Victory:

Here, we sculpt not just intellect but also hearts imbued with values. At Avalon, triumph is redefined, no longer confined to the laurels of success but rather rooted in the steadfast adherence to principles. We mold individuals who not only conquer but uplift, their fellow beings, leaving an indelible mark on humanity's tapestry.
